Britney Spears

Britney Spears 3

Britney Spears is considered to be a teenage sensation that set out to make a career at an age when most young girls are busy putting up posters on their walls. Very few people know that she made her first appearance on national television in a Star Search program as a contestant. This pop icon was the star of a television series on Disney Channel called the ‘The New Mickey Mouse Club’ for one year.

In 1999 she made her solo debut in the music with ‘Baby One More Time’, the videos and lyrics of which created a rage and sparked several controversies all over the world. Britney Spears was hailed as an instant sensation and her three subsequent albums also went on to hog the top position on the Billboard 200. In 2008, she released her sixth album – ‘Circus’.

Britney’s life was far from the bed of roses that most people imagine celebrity lives to be. Always shy of interviews, Britney Spears was hounded by the paparazzi for her two marriages that ended in divorce, stints in drug rehab centers, custody case for her two children, and a misdemeanor charge for ‘hit-and-run and driving without a license’, among others. In spite of all this Britney Spears bounced back several times churning out hit after hit to keep her fans entertained and critics on their toes.

This year, in April, Britney Spears stirred up another controversy when she made a statement in the media, supporting same sex marriages. Britney Spears held the opinion that people in love should be free to do anything that makes them happy. After several pictures of her with her agent Jason Trawick were spotted setting rumors afloat, it was confirmed in June this year that she is, indeed, dating him.
