Looks like it’s the end of the line for Kanye West and Alexis Phifer. I’m sure Kanye was spending more time in the bathroom than Alexis and she just couldn’t take it anymore.
Kanye West and his fiancee Alexis Phifer have split, a source tells Usmagazine.com.
A source close to the couple tells Us that “Kanye is possessed by the tour and everything going on and just couldn’t keep it going. They are still friends and have broken up and gotten back together before, so it could work out.”
This one goes out to all our readers from The Chi, we have a lot of regulars from there. This video made me miss Chicago SO badly. I haven’t been in years and I need to come back. Who’s gonna let me crash at their spot?
This video is simple but in a very effectively elegant way. I liked the parts with Chris Martin juxtaposed against the fireworks best.
Regardless of how you feel about Kanyeisha, he really came with it this go ’round. I’m anticipating but trying to not go too amped up about the next project because I don’t know if it can top Graduation for me.

An obscure songwriter named D’Mystro is claiming that Kanye West jacked one of his songs. In a lawsuit filed in Maryland District Court, D’Mystro (real name Dayna Staggs ) accused Kanye of copyright infringement for the T-Pain-featured hit song “Good Life.”
The suit which also named West’s label, Roc-A-Fella, claims that he didn’t obtain a license to use “Volume of Good Life” for his song. D’Mystro also expressed displeasure at the vulgar and offensive words on “Good Life,” which he claims “harms the reputation” of his song. According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Kanye was only 6 or 7 when “Volume of Good Life” was copyrighted. D’Mystro claims to have suffered “irreparable injury” and is seeking injunctive relief of “85% of all world sales of the proceeds from the music that uses his work.”
Earlier this year, Kanye won a Grammy for “Good Life,” in the Best Rap Song category. (Source)
What I wanna know is, how did Kanye steal this song from ol’ boy when 50% is Jacko’s chipmunks from “PYT” and 25% of it is from “School Spirit”?

MTV reports that lovebirds Kanye West and Alexis Phifer tied the knot in secret in Europe.
Rumours suggest that rapper/producer Kanye has fulfilled his mother’s final wishes by marrying his longterm girlfriend Alexis Phifer at a secret ceremony in Europe.
The rap star proposed to Phifer in 2006 while they were on a romantic holiday in Italy and new reports say that the two have now tied the knot while on vacation in Europe just last month.
The rumours could well be true as the Through The Wire singer was keen to get married away from the spotlight of the media as he said in GQ magazine last year, “I’m just going to go and get married, I’m not going to make a big deal out of it.” (Source)
Kanye’s next single and video will be “Homecoming” which features Chris Martin. When I first heard he was going to guest on the album, I had severe reservations but this is actually one of my favorite tracks off a stellar album. I’m loving the single choices Kanye is going with this go-round.

When I started watching this the first thing that popped into my head is how badly this video will be shutting the dressing rooms DOWN in MetroPark for the next six months, but other than that I can’t see this getting too much play. I’m sure a bunch of hipsters will bang this while drinking some wine coolers and looking at artwork like this. But most people are probably going to be listening to the new-new ringtone shit.
I’m not even trying to get elitist here because while I like Estelle, this song is very elevator music-ish. It’s pleasant or whatever but overall I find it boring. Kanye phoned these verses in as a favor to his boo-boo John Legend. I’ll still be checking for her album though because “Wait A Minute” was hot and I’m willing to give her another shot off that.

Lupe’s album has only sold 286,211, which is almost as much as “Food & Liquor” has sold YTD (334,520). Sheiza! Rihanna’s at 1,002,456 for “Good Girl Gone Bad.” Kanye’s at 1,958,201 (great number!), and N.E.R.D.’s last album “Fly or Die” which came out in ‘04 is at 420,963.
More Brandy music! This is pleasant, but it’s not rocking my world. Don’t know how new this is…but it sounds recent to me. What’s up with all these mid-tempo sleeper joints? LOL where is my “What About Us?” or “Talk About Our Love”? These lil’ mid-tempo joints are ok, and Brandy rides this one nicely as well…but I hope she starts getting some official stuff out soon. I am dying! This joint though…ehh…I give it a B+. Nothing to make me happy in the pants, YET.
Canadian artist Colin Munroe, who has struck up a deal with Dallas Austin’s “Rowdy Records” for the World ex. Canada, puts his own spin on Ye’s “Flashing Lights.” Apparently dude has been doing urban music for a while in Canada, working with people like Glenn Lewis and others (where IS Glenn Lewis!?). He plays like, 50-11 instruments, and while this is a hip-hop influenced production, the rest of his music is decidedly pop. Nevertheless, this is kind of dope. I like the way he flipped it, cause I always get my “gospel sang on” to Kanye’s version anyway. You know black folks can “church” out ANY song. I thought this was interesting, wanted to share & one of ya’ll sent it in too after I’d heard about it! Go YT boy!

In my job I deal with Canada often (”Ay?”) so yeah, I like Canadian R&B randomly LOL.

I actually really like this cover! I’m a Daft Punk fan though anyway. I feel like Kanye deflated his ego enough to actually share something with someone else. Aww, has Kanyetta been humbled in life? I hope so. That would make him so much more palatable.
I won’t lie though, I do listen to “Graduation” often. I skip around a lot, but I listen to it more than I’ve listened to any other hip-hop album this year. 2nd to that would be Fabolous’ latest album.

Kanye West and Craig “Evel” Knievel hashed out an amicable resolution to the lawsuit Knievel filed over West’s 2005 video for “Touch the Sky”, in which Kanye portrayed a Knievel-like character.
Kanye West and Robert Craig “Evel” Knievel have amicably resolved and dismissed the case in connection with West’s “Touch the Sky” video, according to Kanye’s label rep. The pair met recently at Knievel’s home in Tampa, Florida, to finalize the matter, according to a press release.
Knievel formally filed a lawsuit for trademark infringement last December. The Chris Milk-directed, Pamela Anderson-starring mini-movie for “Touch the Sky” - one of the most acclaimed clips of 2005 - finds Kanye playing a daredevil named “Kanyievel,” who makes a grand stunt jump over the Grand Canyon in a mini-rocket, evoking Knievel’s unsuccessful 1974 jump over the Snake River Canyon in Idaho.
According to the St. Petersburg Times, the suit said the video tarnished Knievel’s image with its “vulgar, sexual and racially charged content.” (Source)
