All hot verses, I think I like Big Boi’s the best… but Andre really takes the shit over toward the end. It sounds more like his song. The Isleys sample is ill. I like this, breath of fresh air, and knocks.

Maxim magazine has apologized to Nas for reviewing his album “Nigger” — giving it 2.5 stars — because the album hasn’t even been completed yet.

RAPPER Nas was shocked when Maxim gave his new album, “N - - - - r,” a 21/2-star review - because it isn’t even finished yet. “I’m finishing the album now, and it will be out April 22,” Nas told Page Six. Maxim has since apologized for the premature review, but Nas doesn’t care. “I’d prefer [a review from] Playboy,” the rapper said. “That kind of stuff doesn’t reach my radar or effect anybody around me. I don’t know what a music rating from Maxim is . . . I don’t know what it even means really.” Maxim also reviewed the Black Crowes’ album, “War Paint,” without listening to it in its entirety. Illseed is reporting there’s word floating around that Nas and Jay-Z may do an album together titled Kings of Hip-Hop that will come out on yet another new label from Jay-Z, the “Jay-Z Carter Music Group”. I don’t care if it comes out on Amil Sets Up The Blue Light Special Records, this is something I hope is actually in the works IF they do it right.

In the meantime, here’s a new Nas track called “What It Is” produced by DJ Khalil from the upcoming N*gger.

Nas clarified that he will be combating a myriad of racial slurs, not just the one after which he named his album.

With all the controversy surrounding this album, people didn’t realize that “Oh there’s been no single for this ‘new record.’” It was supposed to be dropping next month, but Jay-Z needs to finish promoting his mental diarrhea before anyone else on Def Jam gets the chance to have a life in the music business;

So far there’s been a lot of talk about Nas’ controversially titled new LP, Nigger, but no music. The man — and the album’s title — has caused incitement and excitement without the public hearing a single note or rap.

Nas had originally planned to put the project out next month, but according to his camp, the album has been pushed to February: Black History Month. Nas told MTV News the first single will drop sometime in January. (source)

Man, this was one of my favorite joints from “Hip Hop Is Dead” for real. I remembered when they were shooting the video and it didn’t even dawn on me that they hadn’t released this joint. I spotted it at Nah Right and had to post it up.

The beat for this song was just so menacing and funky. I loved it. Nas can not really do any wrong in my book honestly.

In the face of mounting controversy, Nas has changed the name of his next album from “N*gga” to “N*gger.” The rapper says the project will be released Dec. 11 via Def Jam, although that date could not be confirmed with the label at deadline.

On Friday night at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, Nas announced the title of his next album: He said it will be called Nigga and released in December. A source close to the project confirmed the name on Saturday.

Nas has said he’d planned to use that title for his last LP before he changed it to Hip-Hop Is Dead. If the December date holds firm, Nas will have a very busy winter. On November 6 he’s releasing his Greatest Hits LP. A video for one of the two new songs on the project, “Surviving the Times,” will be shot soon. Last week, super producer Jermaine Dupri — who has already completed tracks for Jay-Z’s American Gangster — told MTV News he would love to be involved in Nas’ upcoming new LP.  (source)

An upcoming free concert designed to lift the spirits of students at Virginia Tech has come under fire (pun not intended, I swear) for featuring Nas, because his lyrics “are indicative of the moral decay in our society that contributes to acts of violence”, according to one parent.

“For a university official to condone it or to be clueless of what this person’s track record is, it’s unconscionable beyond belief,” said Vincent J. Bove, a New Jersey security expert who has volunteered to speak for the families.

University officials, however, said they have received an overwhelmingly positive response since they announced the concert Wednesday and have no plans to revise the lineup. (Source)

This is a mess because I think Nas would have enough sense to not sing lyrics about guns on stage. He’s not stupid! He has just as many uplifting songs, come on now. Nas says he recently canceled a planned show at San Diego’s House of Blues because he and his entourage, including wife Kelis, were treated “like terrorists” upon their arrival, according to All Hip Hop.

“We had a whole bunch of security guys rush outside to me and my wife like we were terrorists. Its not like I came with 50 guys or nothing. It was just me, my wife, my DJ and my staff for the ‘Hip-Hop Is Dead’ tour and they came at us like we was Osama Bin Laden or somebody.”

Nas added that next time he comes to San Diego, he will play at a different, larger venue.

Hmmmmm, she didn’t have any trouble getting in with her trailer park glam on and all 19,307 entourage members.
