Celebs in Rehabs – Getaways or Confinement?
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009For most celebrities, life isn’t always as grand as people think it is. Even though celebrities make millions of dollars, travel all over the world and are worshiped by millions of fans, they still don’t have it all. There are many celebrities who are lonely, cant find love, and end up turning to drugs and alcohol due to the constant scrutiny and life in the public eye. A place where many famous people go to escape the media and seek help is celebrity rehab. Celebrity rehabs aren’t just for drug addicts, but a retreat where celebrities can go to unwind, seek mental health or go through a spiritual discovery. Not only do celebrities get help but they also find love and meet new friends in these retreats.
Even celebrities need a break from the routine of everyday life. Many famous people enter a celebrity rehab in order to escape public scrutiny, lose weight, beat addiction and even find love. Celebrity rehabs provide a getaway for famous people. Celebrity rehab is just like most other rehab facilities, offering individual therapy, group therapy and medication. But, celebrity rehabs are more like resorts than rehab. This is why many famous people end up meeting new people, dating and some even find love. Even though it is unusual for people to find love in rehab, with celebrity rehab, anything is possible. There are some celebrity rehabs that are thousands of dollars per month. Passages, Promises and Wonderland are all celebrity rehab close to Beverly Hills and the Betty Ford clinic is just a couple of hours away. There are others such as Crossroads in Antigua and Meadows in Arizona. But these celebrity rehabs come with extremely high price tags. Famous people will pay up to $60,000 to stay in these luxurious retreats. They offer access to personal trainers, world class chefs, yoga instructors, makeup artists, hair stylists and much more.
But not all celebrity rehabs are a beautiful getaway. Most still do treat for addiction, whether it be to sex, drugs, alcohol or some other life threatening disease. Not all famous people look at rehab as a vacation. There are plenty of celebrities who have been in rehab and gotten better. Many famous people have been to rehab including robin Williams, Michael Jackson, Robert Downy Jr., Elton John, Nicole Ritchie, Winona Ryder, Charlie Sheen, Britney Spears, Mel Gibson, Drew Barrymore and many more. Even though some famous people think of rehab as a getaway, they are actually a place to get treatment. They are helped the same way as normal, everyday people – receiving the help and support systems they need to help them return to the real world, or as close to real as their world is. But, many celebrities have trouble sticking to their clean lifestyle once they leave celebrity rehab. The pressures of Hollywood and the temptation is much worse for famous people with an unlimited amount of money and resources. That’s why celebrities end up going back to rehab more than once or twice.
Whether you think celebrity rehab is just a luxurious vacation retreat or not, they are used to help famous people cope with issues that ordinary people may never understand. And even though we share the same issues with them, its always a little more difficult under the spotlight.
