Melissa Was Not Completely In the Dark about Jason’s Feelings
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Harrison, hot of The Bachelor sheds some light on the drama that ensued on Monday night’s After the Rose Special. Melissa Rycroft, whom Jason Mesnick broke off an engagement with on Monday’s Bachelor finale for runner-up Molly Malaney had an idea something was not right. “Melissa wasn’t completely blind-sided,” Bachelor host Chris Harrison says on Wednesday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show. “She knew something … she knew something was going on. And she had a hint — a woman’s intuitions, whatever — it might have been about Molly. They came on the show because we felt we needed to show this. We need to show the country what’s happened.”
Mesnick has said that he felt Melissa was “the one,” but changed his mind in the six weeks they spent together after the finale wrapped. Shortly before Mesnick taped the After the Rose special, he realized he wanted Molly. “Something changed,” Harrison says of Mesnick’s relationship with Melissa.
“We had this dilemma — what do we do?” Harrison went on. “We can’t just let America watch this show and have this proposal with Melissa and go, ‘By the way … that didn’t happen — he’s actually with that other girl!’” “So we thought, ‘How do we show America what really happened?’ So we chose, six weeks ago, to shoot this special that you saw on Monday night,” he said. “And, what you saw last night, is obviously what’s happened in the six weeks since.” Harrison added that Molly is probably aware of Mesnick’s indecisive ways. The host said, “Surely, it has to be in the back of her mind.”
I agree I think she had to have a gut feeling that things were not working out. And while I think the way he broke off his engagement with her was wrong, I do understand that his feelings changed…that is life
Jason sucks, what a dork!!! He doesn’t derseve happines. I hope that his relationship with Molly won’t last long. To Molly and Jason, you both made me feel sick to my stomach when you kissed each other on camera just minutes or hour after he broke off an engagement with Melissa. You two deserve each other. You both stink!!!!
